Savannah Chapter Top Teens, Gabrielle Moore, Q'Unique Toxey (TTA President), Savannah's Sunshine, Jeana' Johnson, and Brianna Williams |
Yesterday, the dynamic Savannah Chapter of Top Teens of
America (TTA) held an orientation to invite new teens into the organization.
The members of Top Teens of America, a community service organization under the
umbrella of Top Ladies of Distinction Inc., work diligently to make their mark and
inspire other young people to do the same!
The teens provide service to the community in four primary
areas or thrusts: improving the status of women, community partnerships,
community beautification, and enhancing the lives of senior citizens. Among the many causes that they support are
the March of Dimes, Susan G.Komen Foundation, and Sickle Cell Awareness.
Orientation attendees |
The orientation, held at the West Broad Street YMCA, was an
information session for parents and prospective teens. Attendees had the
opportunity to get a better idea of the many components of TTA and what would
be required of the members. Savannah Chapter
TTA Advisor, Lady Beverly Copeland; Savannah Chapter Top Ladies of Distinction Inc.
President, Lady Annette Mitchell; and Savannah Chapter TTA President, Teen Q’Unique
Toxey as well as other Top Ladies and Top Teens were in attendance to welcome
the prospective teens with open arms. They also discussed the many plans for
2013 that are sure to aid the Savannah community at large. With educator, Lady
Carrie Howard as the National TTA Advisor, the Savannah Teens are sure to take
the world by storm!
