When most people think about Savannah’s great female authors, the
name Flannery O’Connor usually comes to mind. Although O’Connor’s work is
respected and still well-read, there are a host of other great female authors
in Savannah that you need to know about.
Earlier this month, The Village Empowerment Project, a non-profit organization
in Savannah, Georgia, sponsored a networking social called the Sister Girl’s
Social for female authors.
Each author gave a brief summary of her book and her
journey during the writing process. In addition, each author donated a copy of
her book for a drawing, and ironically a few of the authors won another
author’s book!
Thanks again to all of the authors who attended the Sister
Girl’s Social!
